Non-Profits

PAC 14 offers open studio hours to Wicomico County, Salisbury, and Fruitland based non-profit organizations.

The Offer:
To provide additional assistance to our local non-profit organizations and to promote greater utilization of Public Access Television, PAC 14 will provide open studio hours. Qualified Wicomico based non-profits may reserve studio time for the purpose of recording 15 to 30 minute video programs. No more than one program per month please.

The Concept:
Many local citizens and organizations utilize PAC services, however there are other non-profits who recognize the value of utilizing PAC 14 but simply are limited by staff and resources. In response to this need PAC 14 offers a plan which provides the technical assistance needed to produce a basic talk program. This offer will provide the non-profit with a finished basic program. We ask that your limit production of your programs to no more than one a month, or 12 a year.

The Basics:
PAC 14 will allocate up to three 1-hour studio blocks of time for Non Profit orgs. Bring in one host and one guest for a talk show style format. Provide PAC 14 with your organizational logo and any digital images you would like included on the program. Program lengths are variable, but we ask that you keep it under 30 minutes. This allows for ease of programming in our 30 minute time slots. Your organization may also borrow PAC 14 cameras to take "on location" to record events or any elements you want included. You can also provide a background of your choice. At this time, they are limited to a size of 3' X 4'. We can help you create a background using Photoshop. The image is then printed and attached to a foam core background. There is a cost associated with this as we use an outside vendor to print and mount the image.

Production Requirements:

PAC 14 will provide a one hour slot of studio time to produce programs. Programs are to be no longer than 30 minutes in length from start to finish.
The non-profit organization wishing to use these blocks must contact the PAC 14 office manager to schedule.
PAC 14 staff will provide all technical assistance.
The non-profit organization must arrive on scheduled day/time and begin within fifteen minutes of arrival.
Only 1 host and 1 guest may participate on set during the taping of each episode.
The program must be recorded in either 15 or 28 minute lengths .
PAC 14 will add identifying text and digital images.
PAC 14 will utilize a generic ‘PAC 14 studio production’ open/close with each program. Each organization may provide their own backgrounds.
These programs will be solely talk-based programs and televised exclusively on PAC 14 and our VOD Channel.
PAC 14 requests that participating organizations, their guests and members, become a PAC 14 Member and that they attend a PAC 14 qualifying workshop to establish themselves as local producers.

MEMBERSHIP

If the non-profit organization wishes to do additional editing on the program they may do so using their staff and time on a PAC producer editor. PAC will provide one DVD copy of the program to the organization. Extra DVD copies will cost $10.00 each.
While not required, PAC 14 does highly recommend that each non-profit organization uses the Friday non-profit service budget approximately $250 dollars to produce a 3’x4’ graphic ‘background’ specific to your show. This image may include your logo or other identifying images. Production time for backgrounds is 1-2 weeks.
